Some photos from a recent trip to Anza Borrego desert state park. I drove along the jasper trail for a while before settling on a campsite with lots of boulders and rock outcroppings. A clear sky was forecast and my main goal was to make some compositions of rock outcropping in the area with the milky way as a backdrop. Unfortunately it stayed cloudy most of the night with the sky waiting to clear until 2:30 in the morning. I was finally able to get some milky way photos.
A giant boulder with lights from Salton City and the Imperial Valley visible in the background. Unfortunately the cloud cover got worse before it got better.
I spent my day hiking from peak to peak among some of the areas hillsides. I was rewarded with some nice views of the southern mountain ranges in Anza Borrego Desert State Park.
Lots of flowers dotting the hillsides.
Finally the sky cleared and I was able to get some milky way photos.
A star trail blended with a single high ISO image of the milky way.
